FAQs

Are You a Member or Friend of the Chapter?

The ACMP-DC Chapter appreciates our members and friends. It takes ALL of us to support and operate our chapter at its best! However, our members do receive additional benefits and privileges. The following FAQs will address questions about membership versus friendship.

Who is an ACMP-DC Chapter Member?

A member of the ACMP-DC chapter is an active member of Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) Global who is affiliated with ACMP-DC by having selected us as their primary group (chapter).

“Active” means the membership (whether individual or via an employer) is paid in full and the member’s expiration date is no more than three months beyond the expiration date. (Members are encouraged not to let their membership lapse; but we afford a three-month grace period to allow members to process their renewal with ACMP Global.)

Who is an ACMP-DC Chapter Friend?

An ACMP-DC friend meets one of the following criteria:

  •   His/her ACMP Global membership expired more than three months ago and he/she is affiliated with ACMP-DC by having selected us as their primary group (chapter).
  • His/her Global membership is current, he/she has selected another chapter as their primary group and is affiliated with ACMP-DC by having selected us as their secondary group (chapter).

How do I select ACMP-DC as my primary or secondary chapter?

  • Log into your account at acmpglobal.org.
  • Choose “Groups”, then ensure your primary group chapter is set to “Chapters: Washington DC Chapter”.

I was a Friend years ago. Am I still a Friend?

To maintain an accurate ACMP-DC database, we regularly review and remove Friends records not updated by the individual in the last three years.

I’m a Member (or Friend). Why have I not received communications from ACMP-DC?

Email is our primary mode of communication; therefore, ACMP-DC does not maintain records for individuals who have opted out of group communications or who do not hold a working email address. (See FAQ below about updating an email address.)

How do I permit ACMP (and ACMP-DC) to communicate with me?

ACMP-DC receives updated member/friend data from ACMP Global. To update your email address:

  • Log in at acmpglobal.org.
  • Select Manage Profile in the upper right corner.
  • Select Edit Bio.
  • Set ACMP Communications Options to Yes.
  • Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

How do I update my email address with ACMP-DC?

  • Log in at acmpglobal.org.
  • Select Manage Profile from the My ACMP Profile box at the upper right.

I renewed with ACMP yesterday. Why am I not receiving the discounted rate when registering for an upcoming ACMP-DC event?

Renewals to ACMP Global are not reflected immediately in the ACMP-DC database but are processed per our regular data import schedule. Please contact acmpdc@gmail.com for assistance.
