During this DATa CM CoP meeting, learn how the DIKW (data-information-knowledge wisdom) pyramid can be used to derive the most value from your data. The DIKW pyramid is an often used method, with roots in knowledge management, to explain the ways we move from data (the D) to information (I), knowledge (K) and wisdom (W) with a component of actions and decisions. Priyanka Surio, Director of Data and Public Health Informatics at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), will provide an overview of DIKW and how to apply this approach to change initiatives. She will also share her insights on how sustainability can and should continue to play a role in how we leverage data, especially in the context of her various experiences in the public health and travel sectors. Finally, Priyanka will explore the ethics and importance of engaging communities and stakeholders in data collection and research to ensure we have representation from a diverse pool of sources.
Registration: Free to ACMP DC members; $10.00 for non members
