Change professionals spend their careers helping organizations navigate disruption, uncertainty, and transformation. But what happens to the practitioners leading these change efforts?

Join ACMP DC for an engaging and research-based session exploring Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) and its emerging role as a critical competency for change leaders. Drawing on original doctoral research and real-world change leadership experience, Dr. Tamara Stallings will examine how adversity, when navigated intentionally, can become a catalyst for personal and professional growth.

Grounded in organizational psychology and aligned with ACMP's people-centered approach to change, this session offers practical strategies for stakeholder engagement, resistance management, culture transformation, and organizational resilience initiatives. Whether you're supporting enterprise transformations, organizational redesigns, or culture change efforts, you'll leave with a new perspective on helping both individuals and organizations move beyond surviving change to growing through it.

Dr. Tamara E. Stallings is an organizational psychologist, senior HR executive, ICF Professional Certified Coach, and U.S. Navy veteran with 20+ years of experience partnering with leaders across federal agencies, nonprofits, and organizations doing work that matters.

Her doctoral research — From Barrier to Breakthrough: Examining the Relationship Between Employee Resilience and Posttraumatic Growth in HR Leaders — is personal. She has lived what she studies. She knows what it means to be built through disruption rather than just surviving it.

Dr. Stallings was selected to represent the FDA at the White House AI and Cybersecurity Workforce Think Tank — recognized with the Innovator in Technology Talent Award for her contributions to federal workforce modernization. She is the author of Career Fit: 30 Career Navigation Strategies and Tactics for Extremely Challenging Times and the creator of Burn the Handbook™, a biweekly newsletter with 2,064+ subscribers.
