Non-Profit Development Intern
The non-profit development intern engages with chapter leadership to assess, mature and enhance chapter operations and practices. More specifically, this role focuses on evaluating chapter practices (e.g., onboarding of Board members, volunteers) and identifying/implementing solutions to strengthen chapter management practices.
The non-profit development intern collaborates with Board members and volunteers to draft, design and implement new processes, products and solutions to enhance operations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with Board leadership to design and develop Board onboarding program and materials
Engage with Board members to design and develop volunteer onboarding program and materials and volunteer experience survey
Guide the drafting, development and finalization of committee charters in support of Board members to drive consistency and mature chapter operations
Assess, evaluate and recommend chapter processes to enhance operational maturity and
Implement non-profit management best practices
Debrief Board members on observations, key findings and recommendations based on assessment
Identify ways to enhance member experiences and promote the chapter to the broader community
Multi-Tasking Wizard – ability to manage and lead multiple projects, deadlines, and initiatives, working with and through a cast of creative and dedicated volunteers
Detail Oriented – gifted with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem solve, and get things done through others
Innovator, Problem Solver and Doer – ability to take ownership, exercise creativity and willingly translate strategy into action that produces concrete results
Communicator – well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; strong business and interpersonal instincts, judgment and integrity
Prior experience in non-profit management, operations and Board operations is highly desirable
This internship position is a three (3) or six (6) month engagement and will likely be approximately 10-20 hours of support per month.
